Talking On The Phone
Did you know that your cell phone screen can carry more bacteria than a toilet seat handle? Yup – pretty gross! But it makes sense, sweat residue and excess make up inevitably build up on your phone screen as you press it up against your face throughout the day. And guess what happens when you don’t clean that surface but continue to hold it against the sensitive skin on your face? You guessed it! Tons of breakouts on your cheeks and along your jawline.
Texting
The crazy thing is that it’s not just talking on the phone that in ruining your skin. Texting also plays a role in damaging skin near your face. When you text you constantly tilt your head down to look at your phone’s screen, and over time the unfortunate position causes neck wrinkles. It’s so common that they have even come up with the name “tech neck” to refer to the unfortunate wrinkles. Yikes!
Wearing Sunglasses
Wearing dirty sunglasses can be a major cause of breakouts on your forehead, the sides of your nose, and even your upper cheeks. Just like phone screens collect sweat and excess makeup, so do your shades. We suggest trying to avoid the problem by keeping an antibacterial wipe on hand and making sure to clean your glasses and phone screen at least once a day.
Drinking Too Much Coffee
Drinking too much coffee each day can be really damaging to your skin. Coffee, like sugar and alcohol, dehydrates your body, thus dehydrating your skin. Milk and creamers also work to clog pores, in addition to the known aging effects that sweaters have on our skin.
Forgetting To Use SPF
Applying sunscreen to your face, neck, and chest every day might seem like a no-brainer to some of us, but for some, it may not be so ingrained into their daily morning routine. Trust us, that is going to need to change. It is an easy step that can be added to your makeup application ritual and can take years off your appearance later in life.
Frowning
Turn that frown upside down. Not only will you start to look and feel more positive with a smile on your face, but it also helps reverse the wrinkling effect frowning has on your face. So try to make an effort to add a smile on your face with that SPF every morning.
Skipping Meals
Skipping meals throughout the day can cause your skin to dry out and age faster. This is due to lack of vitamin intake. Make sure you are eating foods with enough Vitamin C, Vitamin B3, Vitamin A and Vitamin E to help build up your skin’s health.
